Card of the Day! -Dark Magician

If you used to watch the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series then you probably remember this guy being Yugi's favorite card. He doesn't come with a special attack, but he as a powerful 2500 attack and 2000 defense. To make up with his lack of an effect there's a whole deck worth of supporter cards for this 1 card. Being a level 7 he does reqire 2 trbutes, but he decimate just about anything your opponent can throw at you. we also should expect to see this guy on the big screen here soon here in North America with the release of the new yugioh movie 'Yu-Gi-Oh Bonds Beyond Time!'

Gravekeeper Deck Building 101

OK, this week we're gonna work on building a Gravekeeper deck. For anyone who doesn't know, Gravekeeper decks use "Gravekeeper" monsters boosted up by their field spell "Necrovalley". "Necrovalley" has the effects that say "Gravekeeper" monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF and cancels ANY effects that target the graveyard, like "Monster Reborn" or "Pot Of Avarice". Firstly, using this kind of deck, I would suggest not to run many cards that affect the grave with "Necrovalley". Of course with the guy shown here, "Gravekeeper's Chief", your graveyard CAN use effects like "Monster Reborn", but that's prior you can keep him on the field. Gravekeeper monsters overall have a variety of effects, like inflicting life point damage ("Gravekeeper's Curse"), sending monsters back to your opponent's hands/extra deck ("Gravekeeper's Guard") and even searching out "Necrovalley" from your deck ("Gravekeeper's Commandant"). A note to keep in mind is "Necrovalley" is BIG in this deck, giving monsters ATK and DEF points and giving some Gravekeeper monsters their secondary effects, like "Gravekeeper's Assailant" her effect to switch a monster's mode when attacking. Personally, I wouldn't think of adding a "Terraforming" to this deck, because I built a Gravekeeper deck not that long ago, I ended up with 2 or 3 "Necrovalleys" in my hand at a time. So basically, Gravekeeper monsters are based on swarming the field and overwhelming the opponent with their effects.
